Father is divine relation-language
God is Father as Creator and source, Father to His covenant people, and uniquely Father of the incarnate Son. The term speaks of origin, care, authority, and relation.
It should not be reduced to a divine male body or to one member of a divine committee. God is Spirit.
The Father begets the Son through incarnation
Luke identifies the Holy Ghost and the power of the Highest as the cause of the holy child’s conception. The one God is Father of the Son because He brings the human life of Christ into being.
Father and Holy Ghost are not two supernatural fathers. The language describes the same divine God acting in conception from different angles.
The unseen Father is revealed in the Son
The Father remains invisible as Spirit, yet His character, works, words, and saving presence are made visible in Christ.
Jesus does not merely point away from Himself to a different visible God. He is the human image in which the Father is known.
Define Father through relation
